The spring school holidays are almost here, and if you’re in Castle Hill, Kellyville, or anywhere across the Hills District, chances are you’ve already had the “what are we doing with the kids this week” conversation. Escape rooms are a genuinely good answer — they get everyone off screens, they work for a wide age range, and unlike a movie, everyone’s actually doing something together.

Why an escape room works for the holidays

Unlike a lot of school holiday activities pitched at either toddlers or teenagers, our rooms are built for a real family age range — from 8 up to adults, so you’re not leaving anyone out or dumbing anything down for the group. A typical indoor escape room session runs about an hour, so plan on 90 minutes on site once you factor in check-in and the briefing.

Two ways to spend the day

If you want a classic escape room experience, our five indoor rooms cover a range of themes and difficulty levels, so you can pick something easier for younger kids or a genuine challenge if you’ve got escape-room veterans in the family. Prices run from $55–$80 per player.

If your crew is more the outdoors type, Busy Bees (ages 8–12, from $25 per child, adults free) is a puzzle trail built for younger family groups and runs about an hour on site. Stumped (for adults and families, from $38–$50 per player) is a bigger outdoor challenge — plan on around two hours on site — and there’s no minimum age if children are playing alongside an adult, so it can work for younger family members too if they’re up for something longer and more physical.

Getting here from Castle Hill or Kellyville

We’re in Galston, a straightforward drive from Castle Hill, Kellyville, Cherrybrook, Pennant Hills, Kenthurst and Glenhaven. If you’re coming from Castle Hill without a car, bus route 637 runs straight from Castle Hill Station to Galston.

Booking over the holidays

We’re open 7 days, 9:30am–10pm, but school holiday weeks fill up fast — especially afternoon slots. We’d recommend booking at least a few days ahead if you’ve got a specific date in mind.
